Fountain Specifications

  • Material: Handcrafted concrete
  • Weight: Approximately 1,300 lbs
  • Height: 6 to 7 feet
  • Basin Diameter: 55 inches
  • Style: Tiered bird fountain

Tools & Equipment You Will Need

  • Forklift or crane capable of lifting 1,500+ lbs
  • Level (4-foot recommended)
  • Compacted gravel or concrete pad (minimum 6 inches deep)
  • Submersible pump (included or sold separately)
  • Garden hose or water source nearby
  • 2–3 people to assist with placement
  • Work gloves and steel-toed boots

Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1 — Prepare the Foundation

Choose a flat, stable surface that can support at least 1,500 lbs. We strongly recommend a reinforced concrete pad or compacted gravel base at least 6 inches deep. Avoid soft soil or grass without a proper base — the weight of the fountain will cause it to sink over time.

Step 2 — Plan Your Water Source

Before placing the fountain, make sure a water source and outdoor electrical outlet (for the pump) are within reach. The pump cord is typically 10–15 feet. Use a GFCI-protected outdoor outlet for safety.

Step 3 — Position the Basin

Using a forklift or crane, carefully lower the 55-inch basin onto the prepared foundation. Use a level to confirm it is perfectly flat on all sides — this is critical for even water flow. Adjust the base as needed with shims or additional gravel.

Step 4 — Place the Fountain Tiers

Assemble the fountain tiers from bottom to top. Each tier is heavy — never attempt to lift tiers by hand. Use lifting straps and equipment rated for the weight. Align each tier carefully over the center column and lower slowly.

Step 5 — Install the Pump

Place the submersible pump at the bottom of the basin. Run the tubing up through the center column of the fountain. Connect the tubing to the top tier spout. Plug the pump into your GFCI outdoor outlet.

Step 6 — Fill with Water

Fill the basin with water until the pump is fully submerged (minimum 4–6 inches above the pump). Turn on the pump and check for even water flow across all tiers. Adjust the pump flow rate as needed.

Step 7 — Final Check

  • Confirm the fountain is level and stable
  • Check all tiers are properly seated
  • Inspect for any cracks or chips from transport
  • Enjoy your new centerpiece! 🎉

Maintenance Tips

  • Top off water weekly — concrete fountains lose water to evaporation
  • Clean the pump filter monthly to prevent clogging
  • In freezing temperatures, drain the fountain and store the pump indoors
  • Apply a concrete sealer annually to protect the surface and prevent algae buildup
